A Light The Darkness
The Lord is continually opening new doors for us and is always giving us new opportunities to minister to people. A girl from the streets who we have known for many years got arrested recently and instead of going to jail she has to do 20+ hours of cumminity service.
We suggested that she might do some hours with us: serving coffee and soup at the Cream And Sugar trailer.
Her probation officer said that this was OK, so now she is helping us out for a few hours each week. This allows us to spend more time talking to the people, and we also have her around a whole lot more.
A couple of days ago we got word that a young man we knew well died from an overdose of heroin.
This shows us that, especially in this dark place, we are needed the most, and that is what the people tell us all the time. We are indeed a light in the darkness, and people on the streets are glad that we are here.
Cream And Sugar On TV
When we had our Christmas Party on the streets back in December, we had some special guests. A camera crew from the local TV station News 8 Austin. They made a report about our Cream And SugarProject. We are really excited about this and we have got a lot of positive feedback from people who saw the story on TV.
