Jesus Loves You Ministries

We had the privilege to have our friends from "Jesus Loves You Ministries" visit us for several days. They also minister to the same kind of people we do. They regularly visit the Rainbow-Gatherings and try to reach the young kids with the gospel. We really enjoyed having them with us and we are glad that our friendship could be intensified.

Spring Break on the Streets

Hello readers, my name is Boone. I am a college student from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
A few weeks ago, a growing desire began in my heart to live on the streets and learn more about our homeless brothers and discern what true dependency on God is like. After hearing about the HELP for all Nations ministry from a friend, I called up our friend Gerald. He said that sleeping on the streets was not likely, but that he had a bus with our name on it.
So my friend Adam and I hit the road once Spring Break had begun. It has been an amazing experience living with the families here and making new friends on the street.

Adam's Experience

While waiting on Guadalupe Street, Dan approached me...he knew me, called me by name, and embraced me. We had come to know each other only two days before. But then I remembered something very tragic about his life: he has no one. Few even listen to him. It is difficult for me to fathom that kind of loneliness. It seems his life is absent of any consistent and personal life-giving relationship.
It was that incredible loneliness and hopelessness that led me to briefly pray for Dan as he greeted me during those moments-that he would come to truly know the One who fully knows him, calls him by name, and who also chose to willingly embrace his life by offering that of His Son's.
What a wonderful joy it was for me to be recognized by Dan that afternoon-our relationship together was so brief. But I can't imagine how special it must have been for him to be initially recognized by me or the others-Gerald, Daniel, Kurt and their families, whose life is spent in ministry to individuals like Dan each day. It must have been wonderful for him.
In my few days on the streets of Austin, I was reminded of something very important regarding my compassion for the homeless: being a representative of the Incarnate Christ is not necessarily becoming hopeless among the hopeless. It is, instead, to become personally involved in their sufferings and lifestyle to show that in Jesus alone is hope. To live like I am poor is one thing-to be a servant and friend to the poor is greater.

Back to Jesus

Last year, we visited Bobby in prison for several months. During this time he experienced Jesus. Unfortunately, after his release, he turned away from Jesus and he tried to avoid us.
But a few months ago we met him on the streets and we had a very good conversation. Slowly, he started to open up his heart again and has been excited to see us. A few days ago, he humbly asked:

" Do you have some kind of a bible study? I am longing for the peace I experienced when I was in prison a year ago. I want to get back to Jesus".
