changes

During the past few years we were able to share the gospel with a lot of young homeless people and show them the love of God through our friendship and practical help. The whole neighborhood has changed in its appearance and atmosphere. Nearly all shady shops and restaurants have closed down and the area has developed into a beautiful shopping place.
But along with these developments the street scape has also changed. During the past few months we have experienced times where there have only been a few runaway kids. This may have been due to seasonal aspects. Nevertheless we have been wondering whether any changes in our ministry are needed. With asking hearts we brought these questions to God.
Yesterday, as we headed for the streets we were overwhelmed by what we saw - a group of about ten runaway kids were sitting on the marketplace where we normally do our outreaches. It took us just a few seconds until we were part of that group. We were able to share the gospel, pray for people and provide practical help where needed. It was awesome!
I don't have to mention that we were greatly encouraged by this experience. Still we look for God's guidance so that His plans and intentions may come into existence.

after LIFE training

At the beginning of October John left our LIFE Training and lived on the streets of Austin again. He found a job with a company for temporary work and therefore was able to cover his living expenses. During LIFE Training he learned many things and the experiences he had with the Lord had a great impact on his life.
We have been in touch a lot and he comes back to us whenever he needs prayer or advice. In many ways we have been able to help him get his life in order.
It was really a joyful occasion when he showed us his first paycheck. After many years he finally had earned money with honest work. He was very proud of it. We were also very excited.
Today he left Austin on a bus and will spend the winter staying with his Dad. Thus John will be able to save all the money he makes at work to pay off the debts he has. We are very happy that John is doing so well. We are grateful for the time he spent here in LIFE Training and we are excited about the positive effects that the Lord's power is working in his life. more about LIFE Training...

Luc (23 years)

Luc is primed. As he sees our guitar he asks us whether we would play him a song. After listening to the short worship song he is obviously moved and his heart seems to be wide open. We ask him if he'd like to receive prayer. He agrees immediately and receives God's love through our prayer. Slowly the tears run down his cheeks. Then he tells us that only a few months ago he had a heart attack.
This experience caused him to think about his life and he expresses the desire to leave this lifestyle behind and start anew all over again. more testimonies...
