At The Rainbow Gathering
The 2007 annual Rainbow Gathering was held at the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas. Approximately 5000 to 10000 people from all across the United States gathered in the woods and joined the Rainbow Family for a couple of days.
Some came simply for partying, others came with an earnest desire to make a contribution to world peace. There was a impressive mixture of individuals of all races, languages and beliefs. A large contingent of law enforcement representatives was present and they did a good job without any harassment to the participants of the Gathering.
On July 4th, people gathered in a big circle and prayed corporately for world peace. One could sense a great hunger for peace and love among these mostly young people.
Jesus said:
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied".
We pray that this wonderful generation of young people would get to know the real source for peace and love and that they would meet the only one who is capable to make their dream come through: Peace on this earth!
His name is JESUS!
Mobile Coffee-Shop Project / update
We are still working on finding the right vehicle for our Mobile Coffee-Shop Project. In the next few days we are going to check out an old travel trailer. We are very excited about this whole idea and we trust God that He would do the financial miracle in order that this vision comes true. Find out more...
Loosing Friends
During the past twelve months we have had the sad experience of loosing three homeless friends. The first person was a young man in his mid-twenties who died of a heroin overdose. Soon after that another friend was found dead on the streets due to an accident. And then, just two weeks ago, we got the horrifying news that our blind homeless friend was robbed and beaten to death.
Although we do not live in Los Angeles or New York we still face a lot of violence and tragedy in the streets of Austin. Since January the police reported 18 homicides. Last year there were only 9 homicides.
Living on the streets is very often a matter of life and death. We are so grateful for the fact that we are the bearer of hope and that we are able to bring real life through Jesus to the people on the streets of Austin and beyond.
