My name is Terry. I have become friends of the "Cream and Sugar" team over the last spring and summer. I am a computer engineer and have worked in high tech for 25 years. However, I have been drawn to the homeless population of Austin for the past 5 years, serving as a volunteer once or twice a week in a non-faith based program that provides basic needs and counseling to homeless people aged 17 to 24.
Over the years, I became aware that there needed to be a bible based ministry here in Austin to serve these same young people.

inside #6 + #7 /2008 - Rainbow Gathering 2008

The annual national Rainbow Gathering was held in the national forest near Boulder, Wyoming, from July 1 to 7. Approximately 15´000 people of all ages gathered to make a stand for world peace and to celebrate an alternative lifestyle and mother nature. "Cream and Sugar" was right there to minister to our target population! We attended the previous year (in Arkansas), but this is the first year we were able to take our trailer.
This year we set up our "Cream and Sugar" - Trailer next to the trail head leading to the main camp. Everybody going to or coming from camp was offered coffee, oatmeal or ramen noodle soup. [Read all...]

May 2008 - New Newseletter

We are doing very well. Our Cream And Sugar Project has been a huge success, and our outreaches to the streets are more than just exciting.
The Lord is doing great things and we are very encouraged! In our team we are experiencing wonderful unity. Please pray with us that this will continue.
We also ask you to pray for our housing situation, since we are facing difficulties in this matter. inside #5/2008 - To The Rainbow Gathering

An essential part of our vision is to reach the whole sub-culture of young travelers and runaways with the Gospel.

An important element of this sub-culture is an annual celebration known as the National Rainbow Gathering.

The Lord has put on our hearts the people there, and we plan to serve as many of them as possible.

inside #3/2008 - A Light In The Darkness

The Lord is continually opening new doors for us and is always giving us new opportunities to minister to people. A girl from the streets who we have known for many years got arrested recently and instead of going to jail she has to do 20+ hours of cumminity service.

inside #1/2008 - Full Spead Ahead

More than four months ago we launched our Cream And Sugar project, and since the first day it has just been amazing. It is really not easy to express our excitenent in words. On average we have 20 guests each day. If it is really cold up to 40 people hang out at the trailer.
We are especially grateful that we are not just "one more soup kitchen." We are a fellowship. During the last few weeks the Lord has given us some many new friends, and we have a been able to build wonderful relationships. The trust and respect people give us is wonderful. The young homeless especially, who the Lord placed on our hearts, are regular guests. [Read all...]

inside #12/2007 - The Next Move

As you all know we have been looking for a new place to stay for a long time. And not just a permanent home for us but also a place where our ministry can grow. A place where we can grow deep roots and expand to the right and to the left.
A couple of months ago we have found just the right place close to the eastern city limits of Austin. Since then we are in touch with the owner of the property and he already promised two houses to us.[Read all...]
